Since 2005, Tukee Nepal Society has been actively engaged in providing Education, Healthcare, and Social Services to communities in Nepal, particularly in the remote district of Dhading. Our primary objective is to support education and empower all members of farming families, aiming to improve living conditions and lay a robust foundation for their future across various aspects of life. Our programs benefit all members of local families, with a specific focus on women and children. We strongly emphasize the necessity of enhancing women's participation in economic activities to foster progressive social conditions in Nepal. Consequently, our initiatives encompass women empowerment and education activities. We take pride in being honored with the prestigious Surya Nepal Awards 2011 for our sustained contributions to health, sanitation, electricity, and education, uplifting the living standards of the people in Jyamrung village. Expanding our current operations, we are focusing on extending Education and Health-related projects to more localities in Nepal. Additionally, we plan to bolster the local economy by introducing new avenues for earning a sustainable income, particularly through the establishment of agro-tourism programs. We firmly believe that these initiatives will not only rejuvenate the financial prospects for local residents but also present investment opportunities for those seeking to make a positive impact on others while generating a profit for themselves. Our activities adhere to the rules and regulations set by the Nepal Government. Some of our primary activities include constructing school buildings, providing teacher training programs, offering scholarships for continued education, promoting female and adult education, raising awareness about HIV/AIDS, establishing Farmers' Schools for modern agricultural practices, advocating for rural road construction, implementing micro-finance projects for women empowerment, operating health posts and camps in remote areas, and conducting various training programs for locals, teachers, health workers, and volunteers. The biography of our founder, Mr. Ram Sapkota, reveals his humble beginnings in the remote village of Jyamrung. Born into a farming family facing poverty, Ram overcame obstacles to pursue higher education. Witnessing the impact of poverty on his community, he became a trekking guide and used a portion of his earnings to support children's education. This led to the establishment of Tukee Nepal Samaj in 2005. Ram's humanitarian efforts gained support from international benefactors, including a Swedish couple and journalist, Ewa Söderberg, Dan Söderberg, and Mikael Person. They were moved by the conditions in Jyamrung and decided to support Ram's initiatives, eventually starting their own supporting organization in Sweden. Tukee Nepal's focus expanded beyond education to encompass village development projects, such as building toilets and a health center. Community treks were initiated to discover new tourist destinations, benefiting both tourists and locals by promoting tourism-related businesses and enhancing the overall quality of life.
